Beer Bread Don Sedgewick's Breads

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups white flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
3 tbsp. sugar
1 egg
1 small bottle or can of beer

Beat the egg . Combine the dry ingredients. Blend the egg and beer and add to the dry ingredients and mix. Do not overmix.

Put in a greased loaf pan. Bake 1 hour at 375 F. Remove from pan and cool.
