2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
4 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1 1/4 cup white sugar |
1 1/2 tbsp. butter
2 eggs, beaten lightly rind of 1 1/2 oranges juice of 3 oranges + milk to make 1 cup of liquid |
Sift the dry ingredients together.
Cream the butter and sugar thoroughly. Add beaten eggs and orange rind and beat again.
Alternately add dry ingredients and liquid to the butter-sugar mix, with flour first and last.
Let stand 20 minutes before baking.
Put in a large bread pan, greased, and bake 1 hour at 350 F.
Better the next day.
