Parmesan Crescents Breads

3/4 cup butter or margerine
2 cups cmall curd cottage cheese
1/8 tsp. salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup grared parmesan cheese
NOTE: Have butter at room temp. if using mixer, cold and cut up if using food processor

In medium bowl or food processor fitted with a metal blade, blend butter, cottage and salt. Add flour;mix until blended. Divide dough into 4 flat balls ,place on a floured cookie sheet and refrigerate until cold enough to roll. Preheat oven to 375 F. Lightly grease baking sheets;set aside. On a floured board, roll out 1 ball at a time to a 9" or 10"round. Sprinkle each round with 3 tbsp. Parmesan cheese.Cut each round into 8 pie-shaped wedges.Beginning with wide end of each wedge, roll towards point. Place point side down on prepared baking sheets. Shape into crescents. Sprinkle tops with remaining cheese. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden. Immediately loosen from baking sheets and place on racks to cool. May be frozen. Serve warm.

To make smaller crescents for hors d'oeuvres, divide dough into 6 balls and roll each into a 7" round.

NOTE:I would like this recipe better without the Parmesan. Perhaps sprinkling the surface with a herb mixture + onion flavor would be interesting.
