Icings, Double Boiler Frosting | Cakes & Cookies |
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup water 2 egg whites |
2 tbsp. light corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. salt |
Makes enough to fill and frost three layers
(1) Combine all ingredients in top of double boiler, beat until blended.
(2) Place over simmering water; cook, beating constantly at high speed with an electric hand mixer or rotary beater,
about 7 minutes or until mixture triplesinvolume and holds firm peaks. Remove from heat. Ice.
