2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1/3 cup butter 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder |
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs 1 cup sugar 1 tsp. vanilla |
Melt chocolate with butter on medium power for 3 minutes; stir to melt completely. Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Beat eggs on low speed of electric mixer; blend in sugar.
Blend in chocolate mixture and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture. Spread into greased and floured 9 inch pie plate. Microwave on medium power for 6 minutes, turning dish half a turn every 2 minutes. (Brownies are done when cake tester is slightly moist when tested in centre of brownie.)
Surface may still appear moist. If desired, cut brownie in wedges and serve with a scoop of ice cream and chocolate sauce.
NOTE: Turning the brownies during microwave cooking is essential for even cooking unless your oven has a turntable.
