Skeet Cake Cakes & Cookies

1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup sweet butter(scant)
2 cups cake flour
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup milk
2 squares grated chocolate
3 egg whites beaten with 1/2 cup sugar extra
ICING:
1/2 cup sweet butter
1 1/2 cups icing sugar
3 well beaten egg yolks
1 square melted chocolate

Butter and flour 2 washington pie tins.

Cream the butter and sugar together.

(1) Sift the cake flour,salt and baking powder together 5 times.

(2) Combine the milk and vanilla.

Alternate (1) and (2) with butter and sugar. Add the grated chocolate.

Fold in the egg white-sugar mixture.

Put one half of the batter in each pie tin. Bake at 350F for 30 to 40 minutes. Remove from oven and cool for 25 minutes. Remove from tins and cool completely. Ice.

ICING:

Cream the butter and icing sugar well. Fold in the beaten egg yolks. Beat well. Put 1/3 between the layers and 2/3 over the cake. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the top in rope pattern.
