CRUST
1/1/2 cups chocolate wafer crumbs 1 cup slivered almonds, chopped 1/3 cup sugar 6 tbsp. butter(room temp.) FILLING 3 pkg. cream cheese( 8 oz. each) 1 cup sugar 4 eggs |
1/3 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup Amaretto 1 tsp. vanilla TOPPING: 2 cups sour cream 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tbsp. sugar 1 cup slivered almonds(toasted) Edna's recipe from Fern Donahoe |
CRUST: Combine crust ingredients in food processor. Pat crumb mix into bottom and sides of a buttered 10" spring form pan.
FILLING:Cream together cream cheese and sugar in processor or mix master. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add cream, Amaretto and vanilla, beating until light. Pour into chocolate crust. Bake on mid rack of a 375F oven for 30 to 40 min.. Transfer cake to a wire rack. Let stand for 5 minutes.
TOPPING: Combine all topping ingredients except nuts. Spread evenly over cake. Bake 5 minutes more. Cool on a rack. Cover top with toasted almonds. Chill overnight or longer.
