Chocolate Chip Dessert Desserts

1 angel food cake, baked and cooled
12 oz. chocolate chips
4 eggs, separated
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
1 pt. cream,whipped or 2 envelopes Dream Whip
1 cup chopped nuts OR coconut
GARNISH
whipped cream ORDream Whip

Separate eggs and beat whites until stiff but not dry.

Beat yolks until creamy. Melt chips in top of double boiler. Add egg yolks to melted chocolate. Take from stove and add sugar, vanilla and salt. Fold in the stiffly beaten whites. Whip the cream or prepare the Dream Whip as directed. Fold into batter. Add the chopped nuts or coconut.

Break 1.3 cake into pieces and put back into angel food pan. Pour 1/3 mixture over. Continue in this manner until all the cake and batter is used. Place in the refrigerator overnight. Just before serving, turn onto a serving plate. Garnish with whipped cream or Dream Whip. Serves 12 easily.
