Light Strawberry Russe Desserts

1 white cake mix
2 to 3 env. unflavored gelatin
2 boxes frozen strawberries
1/2 to 3/4 cups sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
4 eggs whites
1 cup water
1/2 cup juice from berries
2 cups whipping cream

The day before; Bake cake mix as directed and use 1/2 for this recipe.Remove brown surfaces and cube the cake.

Add gelatin to 1/2 cup of cold water. Bring strawberry juice + 1/2 cup water to a boil. Add gelatin and stir until dissolved. Cool until like egg whites, then beat with the electric beater. Meanwhile, beat the egg whites with half the sugar in 1 bowl and whip the cream with the rest of the sugar in another bowl. Fold all the ingredients together, including the strawberries. Put in an angel food pan rinsed with cold water. Cool 3 or 4 hours or more. Unmold and serve.
