50 ml. butter(1/2 cup melted)
75 ml. cornstarch(2 tbsp.) 300 ml. maple syrup(1 cup) 100 ml. water(3/4 cup) |
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup raisins 12 large or 24 small baked tart shells NOTE: the ingredients are from 2 different recipes so proportions are slightly different |
Melt butter and blend in cornstarch. Stir in maple syrup and water. Bring mixture to a boil and simmer until it thickens,stirring constantly. Continue cooking 5 minutes more, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and cool 15 minutes. Spoon into baked tart shells. Makes 12 large tarts or 24 small tarts.
METHOD #2:Combine cornstarch and sugar in a 1 quart saucepan. Mix well. Add water to dry mixture. Cook over medium heat, stirring until mixture is thick and smooth. Add melted butter and mix well. Stir in maple syrup, nuts and raisins. Bring to a boil, simmer until it thickens, stirring constantly. Continue cooking for 5 more minutes,stirring. Remove from heat and let cool for 15 minutes. Spoon into baked tart shells. Before serving, top with whipped cream and finely chopped nuts.
