1-28oz. can pears
1-19oz. can peaches 1 small can mandarin oranges 1 eating apple 1 cup strawberries |
1/2 cup raspberries
2 peeled bananas 1/4 cup Kirsch 2 oz. blanched slivered almonds(optional) |
Drain the pears,reserving the liquid, and cut into 1/2" cubes. Drain the peaches,reserving the liquid, and cube. Peel the apple and cut into tiny ,tiny cubes.
Combine the pears,pear juice,peaches, manderine oranges and juice,apple,strawberries and kirsch and marinate for at least 3 hours.( If fruit not covered,add just enough peach juice to do this) Just before serving add the raspberries and sliced bananas and decorate with almond slivers, if desired.(I usually omit them).
NOTE 1: You may add pineapple cubes if you wish, but I find them overpowering.
NOTE 2: For a large party I add 1 more can of pears and increase the strawberries to 2 cups.
