1 1/2 lb. piece pork shoulder or leg, bones removed
1/4 tsp. garlic powder or salt 2 tbsp. red wine 1 tbsp. dark soya sauce 1 tsp. Hoi Sin sauce |
1 tsp. sugar
dash of fresh ground pepper 1 tbsp. peanut oil 1 tbsp. cornstarch |
Blend all ingredients ( except pork) together. Add pork and marinate for 1 hour or more, turning often. Remove from marinade and pat dry. Roast, uncovered, in a 350F oven for 1 hour, turning after 20 to 30 minutes. (Roasting time depends on thickness of roast).Slice into very thin strips about 1" or 2" wide. Use in recipes asking for sliced roast pork, like Singapore Mi Fon.
