1 pouch Lipton Onion Soup mix
3 lbs. pot roast(brisket or other) 1 tsp. thyme 1/2 tsp. garlic powder |
3 carrots,peeled & quartered
6 small peeled potatoes 3/4 cup apple juice OR red wine |
Place a large piece of aluminum foil in a shallow baking dish. Centre the roast on the foil and rub with onion soup mix. Place vegetables around,add seasonings. Pour over the juice or wine. Cover with foil and seal around the edges to make a completely enclosed package. Bake at 350F for approx.2 1/2 hours(more if roast is larger). Reduce cooking time if bone is in. When done remove to a heated serving plate. Surround with cooked vegatables. Thicken sauce, if desired and serve separately. Serve cooked green peas as well.
