Beef, Stew for Three Meats

1 1/2 lb. round beef, fat removed and meat cubed(1/2 inch square)
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
pepper to taste
3 peeled onions, coarsley chopped
2 celery stalks, chopped fine
2 tbsp. butter or margerine
1 cup gingerale
1 tsp. beef bouillon
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper
1/2 cup frozen baby carrots
1/2 cup frozen peas
1 cup leftover whipped potatoes

Saute onion in a fry pan in butter until golden. Remove to a 2 quart pot. Add celery to the pot and place over low heat. Meanwhile, increase fry pan heat to 375 F .Dredge meat cubes in flour-salt- pepper mixture. Add butter to fry pan, melt. Put in meat cubes and brown on all sides. Remove to stew pot. Reduce fry pan heat, add gingerale and scrape up all the goodies. Put in stew pit. Add bouillon, thyme, salt and pepper and stir. Simmer 1/2 hour. Add frozen vegetables and simmer 1/2 hour more.

Make leftover potatoes into 6 balls. Set on stew, heat through and serve.
