Ground Beef, Mardi's Casserole Meats

1 head celery
1 large green pepper
1 clove garlic
3 onions
2 tbsp. butter
2 lbs. ground beef
1 can consomme
1 can tomato soup
1 small can tomato paste
1 can water
2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. oregano
dash of tabasco
1/8 tsp. chili powder
1/8 tsp. fresh ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 box egg noodles

Clean the celery and finely chop. Remove the seeds and top from the green pepper and coarsely chop. Crush the garlic.Peel and chop the onions. Combine these ingredients and saute in fry pan until vegetables are soft and onions are golden at edges. With a slotted spoon, remove vegetables and set aside. Increase the heat to 350F. Add the ground beef and brown, breaking it into small parts while browning.When meat is brown, add the soups, water and spices. Stir to mix thoroughly. Turn heat off.

Meanwhile, cook the noodles as directed on the box. Drain.

Combine all ingredients in a large casserole.Cook, covered (?), for 2 or 3 hours in a 200F oven, stirring occasionally.

Serves 6 to 8.
