Ground Beef, Upside Down Pie Meats

1 1/2 cups flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. celery salt
1/4 tsp. white pepper
5 tbsp. shortening
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup sliced onion
1 can tomato soup
1/2 lb. ground beef

Grease a 9" deep dish pie plate

Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, paprika, celery salt and pepper.Blend in 3 tbsp. shortening and mix thoroughly with fork. Add milk, stir until blended.

Melt remaining 2 tbsp. of shortening in a fry pan and cook onion until soft. Set aside. Add the ground beef and brown.

Combine the onion, beef and tomato soup; bring to a boil, put in prepared pie plate. Spread flour mixture over and cook in a hot oven 425 F for 15 - 20 minutes or until brown. Turn upside down on a serving platter. Serve with a tossed salad.
