Macaroni a la Denny Pasta & Grains

1 cup uncooked macaroni
1 can undiluted mushroom soup
1/2 cup whole milk
3 tbsp. freshly grated parmesan cheese or romano cheese
1 tbsp. freshly chopped chives
1 cup fresh bread crumbs
2 tbsp. butter
salt & pepper to taste
You can substitute 2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour, 2 cups milk and make a sauce instead of mushroom soup and milk

Cook the macaroni in boiling salted water for 7 + minutes or until "el dente" . Drain and rinse with cold water. Drain.Put in a buttered 2 liter casserole.

Heat up the soup and milk. Add the cheese, chives, salt and pepper.Pour over cooked macaroni.

Meanwhile, brown the bread crumbs in the melted butter in a fry pan. Set aside.

Just before baking, sprinkle the bread crumbs over the casserole. Bake in a 350 F oven , uncovered, for 30 minutes. Serves 4.
