Edna's Salad Dressing Salad & Dressings

1 cup white sugar
2 tsp. dry mustard
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup vinegar
1 cup water
2 eggs, well beaten

Mix together the sugar, mustard, cornstarch, salt in the top of a double boiler. Add the vinegar and water. Beat the eggs and add to the above. Cook until thick.

You may use cider vinegar which changes the flavor.

For fruit dressing, dilute the above with orange juice.

Edna also adds chopped onion,chives, worcestershire sauce, or

horseradish to the above to add flavor when using it for salads or sandwiches.

To top a salad, dilute with whipped cream.

NOTE: For Denny, I reduce sugar to 3/4 cup and add 2 tbsp. lemon juice.
