1 lb. small brussel sprouts salt 2 tbsp. butter 1 tbsp. olive oil 1 oz. flaked almonds fresh ground pepper Recipe # 2 1 1/2 lbs. brussel sprouts 1/2 cup chopped onion |
1 pt. sour cream
2 tbsp. butter Recipe#3 1 1/2 lbs. brussel sprouts 1 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 clove garlic 1 tbsp. poppy seeds 1/4 cup chicken stock 1/4 tsp. salt,pepper,sugar 2 tbsp. lemon juice |
Recipe # 1: BRUSSEL SPROUTS with ALMONDS
Steam sprouts for 15 minutes or until tender.
Heat butter and oil in a heavy saucepan. Add almonds and saute until golden. Pour buttery almond sauce over cooked sprouts. Season with salt and pepper and toss lightly.
Serves 4.
Recipe # 2: BRUSSEL SPROUTS in ONION CREAM
Steam sprouts for 15 minutes or until tender. Saute onions in butter until rich brown. Stir in sour cream and heat, stirring constantly. Add brussel sprouts and mix well.
Serves 6.
Recipe#3; LEMON POPPY SEED BRUSSELS SPROUTS
Trim sprouts and cut into quarters. Steam for 5 minutes or until tender-crisp. In a large skillet, heat oil over med. heat; cook brussel sprouts,garlic and poppy seeds, stirring,for 30 seconds. Stir in stock,salt pepper and sugar; cook,stirring occasionally, for 3 minutes or until most of liquid is evaporated and sprouts are hot andwell coated. Sprinkle with lemon juice. (8 servings)
