Green Beans, Savory Vegetables & Fruits

2 lbs.fresh green beans, ends trimmed
1/4 cup olive oil
2 large cloves garlic, halved
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. fresh ground black pepper
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. minced fresh summer savory OR minced fresh dill weed

In a large saucepan,bring a large quantity of salted water to a boil. Add whole trimmed beans gradually and cook over med. high heat, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Drain beans in a colander and refresh under cold running water. (Beans may be prepared ahead of time to this point).

In a large skillet heat oil and brown garlic halves and discard. Add beans and shake pan to coat them with oil. Season with salt and pepper. Cover pan and cook over low heat about 2 minutes. Stir in lemon juice, arrange on a hot serving dish and sprinkle with fresh savory or dill.
