Sauercraut with Vermouth Vegetables & Fruits

1-27oz. can sauercraut, drained and rinsed
1 med. onion, chopped
1 tart apple, chopped
1 can chicken broth( 10 1/2 oz.)
1 can dry vermouth OR dry white wine
1 tsp. carroway seeds

Put first 3 ingredients in a heavy skillet or dutch oven. Add broth,1 can water,wine and carroway seeds. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 2 hours. Frankfurters or lean cooked spareribs can be added in the last half hour of cooking.

Serves 6 ( 120 calories each)
